Domo Muziq originates from Queens, New York and represents the DMV area — two regions that shaped his voice and his vision before he ever stepped into a recording studio. Music wasn't a path he chose. It was inherited, rooted in the legacy of his grandfather Jimmy Buxton, whose influence runs through everything Domo creates.
Before becoming a recording artist, Domo served his country through three combat tours in the army. That experience left its mark — the discipline, the sacrifice, and the weight of survival became permanent threads in his creative identity. When he returned and began recording in earnest, the music carried that weight with it.
His recovery from a severe COVID-19 illness became another turning point. Confronted with his own mortality, Domo returned to the studio with renewed clarity. The result is a catalog that documents real life: from the intimacy of his debut single 'Touch' (2018) to the defiant resilience of 'Outlive' (2022) to the joyful celebration of 'Gud Lyfe' (2025).
